The Summer Programme for 2019

In the warmer months, from April to September, we hold a number of field excursions, usually monthly, involving visits to working quarries, or natural exposures, that may be of restricted access to individuals, where Members can add to their collections, absorb new knowledge of our diverse science, or maybe just enjoy the great outdoors. The excursion Leaders are geologists with specialised knowledge of each particular locality.

This year the long-weekend Field Excursion will be to study the area of the Mendips.
The dates are Friday to Sunday,
14th-16th June
The Leader will be Dr Martin Whiteley, recently of The University of Derby

Those attending will make their own transport arrangement to and from the accommodation.
The Leader will provide a minibus to carry attendees during the two days of investigation.
The visit to the Banwell Bone Cave (in private grounds) will be at cost.

Expressions of interest and intention are required as soon as possible to enable booking.
